بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

75:1

لَآ أُقْسِمُ بِيَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ۝١

I swear by the Day of Resurrection

75:2

وَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِٱلنَّفْسِ ٱللَّوَّامَةِ۝٢

And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection].

75:3

أَيَحْسَبُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ أَلَّن نَّجْمَعَ عِظَامَهُۥ۝٣

Does man think that We will not assemble his bones?

75:4

بَلَىٰ قَٰدِرِينَ عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّسَوِّىَ بَنَانَهُۥ۝٤

Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips.

75:5

بَلْ يُرِيدُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ لِيَفْجُرَ أَمَامَهُۥ۝٥

But man desires to continue in sin.

75:6

يَسْـَٔلُ أَيَّانَ يَوْمُ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ۝٦

He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?"

75:7

فَإِذَا بَرِقَ ٱلْبَصَرُ۝٧

So when vision is dazzled

75:8

وَخَسَفَ ٱلْقَمَرُ۝٨

And the moon darkens

75:9

وَجُمِعَ ٱلشَّمْسُ وَٱلْقَمَرُ۝٩

And the sun and the moon are joined,

75:10

يَقُولُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَيْنَ ٱلْمَفَرُّ۝١٠

Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?"

75:11

كَلَّا لَا وَزَرَ۝١١

No! There is no refuge.

75:12

إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ ٱلْمُسْتَقَرُّ۝١٢

To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence.

75:13

يُنَبَّؤُا۟ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بِمَا قَدَّمَ وَأَخَّرَ۝١٣

Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back.

75:14

بَلِ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِهِۦ بَصِيرَةٌ۝١٤

Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness,

75:15

وَلَوْ أَلْقَىٰ مَعَاذِيرَهُۥ۝١٥

Even if he presents his excuses.

75:16

لَا تُحَرِّكْ بِهِۦ لِسَانَكَ لِتَعْجَلَ بِهِۦٓ۝١٦

Move not your tongue with it, [O Muḥammad], to hasten with it [i.e., recitation of the Qur’ān].

75:17

إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا جَمْعَهُۥ وَقُرْءَانَهُۥ۝١٧

Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation.

75:18

فَإِذَا قَرَأْنَٰهُ فَٱتَّبِعْ قُرْءَانَهُۥ۝١٨

So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation.

75:19

ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا بَيَانَهُۥ۝١٩

Then upon Us is its clarification [to you].

75:20

كَلَّا بَلْ تُحِبُّونَ ٱلْعَاجِلَةَ۝٢٠

No! But you [i.e., mankind] love the immediate

75:21

وَتَذَرُونَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةَ۝٢١

And leave [i.e., neglect] the Hereafter.

75:22

وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ نَّاضِرَةٌ۝٢٢

[Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant,

75:23

إِلَىٰ رَبِّهَا نَاظِرَةٌ۝٢٣

Looking at their Lord.

75:24

وَوُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بَاسِرَةٌ۝٢٤

And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted,

75:25

تَظُنُّ أَن يُفْعَلَ بِهَا فَاقِرَةٌ۝٢٥

Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking.

75:26

كَلَّآ إِذَا بَلَغَتِ ٱلتَّرَاقِىَ۝٢٦

No! When it [i.e., the soul] has reached the collar bones

75:27

وَقِيلَ مَنْ رَاقٍ۝٢٧

And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?"

75:28

وَظَنَّ أَنَّهُ ٱلْفِرَاقُ۝٢٨

And he [i.e., the dying one] is certain that it is the [time of] separation

75:29

وَٱلْتَفَّتِ ٱلسَّاقُ بِٱلسَّاقِ۝٢٩

And the leg is wound about the leg,

75:30

إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ ٱلْمَسَاقُ۝٣٠

To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession.

75:31

فَلَا صَدَّقَ وَلَا صَلَّىٰ۝٣١

And he [i.e., the disbeliever] had not believed, nor had he prayed.

75:32

وَلَٰكِن كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ۝٣٢

But [instead], he denied and turned away.

75:33

ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ يَتَمَطَّىٰٓ۝٣٣

And then he went to his people, swaggering [in pride].

75:34

أَوْلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوْلَىٰ۝٣٤

Woe to you, and woe!

75:35

ثُمَّ أَوْلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوْلَىٰٓ۝٣٥

Then woe to you, and woe!

75:36

أَيَحْسَبُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ أَن يُتْرَكَ سُدًى۝٣٦

Does man think that he will be left neglected?

75:37

أَلَمْ يَكُ نُطْفَةً مِّن مَّنِىٍّ يُمْنَىٰ۝٣٧

Had he not been a sperm from semen emitted?

75:38

ثُمَّ كَانَ عَلَقَةً فَخَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ۝٣٨

Then he was a clinging clot, and [Allāh] created [his form] and proportioned [him]

75:39

فَجَعَلَ مِنْهُ ٱلزَّوْجَيْنِ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلْأُنثَىٰٓ۝٣٩

And made of him two mates, the male and the female.

75:40

أَلَيْسَ ذَٰلِكَ بِقَٰدِرٍ عَلَىٰٓ أَن يُحْـِۧىَ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ۝٤٠

Is not that [Creator] Able to give life to the dead?
