كُنتُمْ خَيْرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخْرِجَتْ لِلنَّاسِ تَأْمُرُونَ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ وَتَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ ٱلْمُنكَرِ وَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَلَوْ ءَامَنَ أَهْلُ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَّهُم مِّنْهُمُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَأَكْثَرُهُمُ ٱلْفَٰسِقُونَ۝١١٠

Kuntum khayra ommatin okhrijat lilnnasi tamuroona bialmaAAroofi watanhawna AAani almunkari watuminoona biAllahi walaw amana ahlu alkitabi lakana khayran lahum minhumu almuminoona waaktharuhumu alfasiqoona

You are the best nation produced [as an example] for mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and believe in Allāh. If only the People of the Scripture had believed, it would have been better for them. Among them are believers, but most of them are defiantly disobedient.

And had the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) believed, it would have been better for them; among them are some who have faith, but most of them are Al-Fâsiqûn (disobedient to Allâh - and rebellious against Allâh’s Command).

(Sahih Al-Bukhâri, Vol.6, Hadîth No.80). b) CHAPTER 144. The prisoners of war in chains. Narrated Abû Hurairah رضي الله عنه : The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said, "Allâh wonders at those people who will enter Paradise in chains." (Sahih Al-Bukhâri, Vol.4, Hadîth No. 254).* * The people referred to here may be the prisoners of war who were captured and chained by the Muslims and their imprisonment was the cause of their conversion to Islâm. So, it is as if their chains were the means of winning Paradise.

أنتم -يا أمة محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم- خير الأُمم وأنفع الناس للناس، تأمرون بالمعروف، وهو ما عُرف حسنه شرعاً وعقلاً، وتنهون عن المنكر، وهو ما عُرف قبحه شرعاً وعقلاً، وتصدقون بالله تصديقاً جازماً يؤيده العمل. ولو آمن أهل الكتاب من اليهود والنصارى بمحمد -صلى الله عليه وسلم- وما جاءهم به من عند الله كما آمنتم، لكان خيراً لهم في الدنيا والآخرة، منهم المؤمنون المصدقون برسالة محمد -صلى الله عليه وسلم- العاملون بها، وهم قليل، وأكثرهم الخارجون عن دين الله وطاعته.
